ON SET: Maternity Shoot BTS w/ Chelsea & The Photo Firm
I’m excited to share with you all the behind the scenes of a recent maternity shoot where I was invited to be the hair stylist on-set! In October of 2020, mommy-to-be, Chelsea, teamed up with the visionary, Tanya Rawlings, of The Photo Firm, to execute these Beyonce: Black Is King/Wakanda inspired maternity pictures. I just threw all that together because that’s what she was serving y’all!

In 2017, Braid Bar Houston, LLC., was contacted and hired by an Associate Producer with a marketing group in NYC, to provide braiding services at a local football game and drum up awareness for a new Target store grand opening.

When I first started braiding hair over 18 years ago, all of my clients were friends and family. When I went on to college in 2002, I began braiding my basketball teammates' hair throughout the seasons. After college, in 2007, I gave birth to my daughter, Phoenix, now 12. Little did I know, but this child would grow up to not only be tender-headed, but to also have some of the thickest hair I had ever braided!
